The swiss society for tribology

What is Tribology?

Tribology is the science and engineering of interacting surfaces in relative motion. It includes the study and application of the principles of friction,
lubrication and wear. Tribology is highly interdisciplinary. It draws on many academic fields, including physics, chemistry, materials science, mathematics,
biology and engineering. People who work in the field of tribology are referred to as tribologists.

Swiss Tribology

We have members from industry, universities and institutes.

Our vision is to

  • Generate a technological edge by our tribological expertise
  • Design technical products with a higher efficiency?
  • Increase the profitability of companies, projects and products by our know-how

Our mission is

  • to gain and disseminate expertise knowledge for solving tribological challenges.

Core Values

We use our network to create and share knowledge. We respect the confidential information of our network members.
